Friday, November 27 is Native American Heritage Day. Harold Wilson’s guest on Delmarva Today is Julie Moss to help us honor the heritage of Native Americans. Ms. Moss is a member of the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians headquartered in Tahlequah Oklahoma. Over the years, Ms. Moss has developed an expertise in writing federal grant applications from her work with Indian tribes. Her work has also included serving as elected treasurer for the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee, as Deputy Director and Planning Director for the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. Julie also worked with The Rural Development Leadership Network to raise funds to send 50 rural/tribal women and women of color to the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing China and has served as a member of the Amnesty International USA Steering Committee. She is currently a grant writer for a nonprofit organization in Muskogee, OK.
