Harold Wilson’s guest is poet Adam Tavel who discusses his new book, Plash and Levitation and the three themes running through his poetry: parenthood—primarily fatherhood; historical voices, including those of William Tecumseh Sherman, Harriett Bailey on visiting her son Frederick Douglass, and Paul Lawrence Dunbar on receiving a pageant sward from Roosevelt; and the third which is an urban, contemporary voice that captures the psychological tension and frustration of today’s world.
